Seniors' advisory council offers telephone consultation on con artists

The Senior Citizens' Advisory Council of the state capital Wiesbaden regularly offers a telephone consultation hour on con artists.

On Monday, June 1, between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., seniors can call (0611) 312591 to get advice on the topic “How can I protect myself from scammers? Shock calls, fake police officers, the grandchild scam, and much more.” 

Older adults, in particular, are often targeted by scammers. These scammers contact seniors by phone, online, or in person to obtain money and valuables. Marion Beste, a police-certified safety advisor for seniors, is available to answer callers’ questions and provide advice and tips.
