“Looking Toward the Sun”: Author Reading at the Literaturhaus
Following her novel *Hey guten Morgen, wie geht es dir?*, which won the German Book Prize among other awards, Martina Hefter is now presenting her new novel *Nach der Sonne schauen* and will read from it on Wednesday, October 28, at the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine, Frankfurter Straße 1. The reading begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be moderated by freelance critic Beate Tröger (DLF and FAZ).
Hefter last visited Wiesbaden in 2024 and was awarded the State Capital’s Literature Prize. The author reading is organized by the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine/Wiesbaden Cultural Office as part of Leseland Hessen, with support from the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art and Culture, the Sparkassen Cultural Foundation of Hesse-Thuringia, and hr2-kultur. Further information can be found at www.wiesbaden.de/literaturhaus (opens in a new tab).
In “Nach der Sonne schauen,” author, poet, and performance artist Hefter brings the visual arts to the forefront. For installation artist Iona Bartschok, a new project is in order, so she moves into a converted industrial hall where only a digital dog keeps her company. As in her previous work, parallels can be drawn to the author herself, whose work always incorporates dance.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Tourist Information Office, Marktplatz 1, by calling (0611) 1729930, or online via the Literaturhaus website. Admission is 12 euros per person, or 9 euros for reduced-rate tickets, plus a advance-sale fee. At the box office, admission is 15 euros per person, or 11 euros for reduced-rate tickets.
