“We are glad that everything went smoothly. Emergency responders, city officials, and the explosive ordnance disposal team worked hand in hand, ensuring that the demolition went off without a hitch. I would like to thank everyone who was on site for their professional work,” said Mende. 

In addition to administrative staff, the Wiesbaden Professional Fire Department as well as the city and state police were on the scene. Also on the scene were the volunteer fire departments of Erbenheim, Kastel, and Kostheim; the Information and Communications Group (IuK); the Logistics Group; the Wiesbaden Technical Relief Service (THW); the emergency medical services; and the explosive ordnance disposal team. 

“We would like to thank not only all the emergency responders, but also all the citizens who, through their behavior, helped ensure that everything went smoothly,” said Mende. To detonate the two bombs, each weighing 125 kilograms, an evacuation was necessary within a radius of about 300 meters. About a dozen people were affected.
