This program is designed for women who are reorienting their careers, returning to the workforce after a break, or looking to start their own businesses. Together, they explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can support them in these endeavors. FemAILab is a collaboration between Zukunftswerk and BerufsWege für Frauen & Social Business Women e.V. 

A new feature is the structure of the evening sessions: All participants work on the same topic but can choose between three skill levels. This allows women with no prior knowledge to get started, while those with experience can deepen their understanding. They select the appropriate level anew for each themed evening. 

The program includes, among other things, an introduction to AI, data protection, creating text and images, research, and developing their own AI assistant. At the end of the evening, participants can present their results and discuss them with one another. 

“FemAILab offers women a space to try out AI tools and exchange ideas with others. For each topic, they choose for themselves where to start based on their existing knowledge. This allows them to assess which applications are useful for their questions and projects,” says Maral Koohestanian, Director of Digital Transformation. 

“Women don’t lack the ability to use these tools; what they lack is natural, unhindered access to them,” says Hannah Radloff, project manager for FemAILab at BerufsWege für Frauen and Social Business Women e.V. “Those who master AI can accomplish more in the same amount of time, present themselves better, and negotiate with greater confidence. It’s about equality in the job market. The fact that we can implement this at Zukunftswerk—right in the heart of the city and in a place that already stands for digital inclusion—provides the ideal setting for us.” 

On Mondays, the “AI Open Learning Lab for Women” continues to take place at the Zukunftswerk. It is aimed at women who are already working with AI and bring their own questions or projects. In contrast, the FemAILab has a set topic for each evening. 

The FemAILab takes place every Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Zukunftswerk Wiesbaden, Luisenforum, Kirchgasse 6. The dates are October 29, November 12, 19, and 26, and December 3, 10, and 17. No prior knowledge is required. A limited number of devices and headphones are available for loan; the course materials are also accessible as transcripts.
