"Matinée musicale" in the Plato Lodge

The Hempel Foundation for Science, Art, and Welfare, in collaboration with the Wiesbaden School of Music and Art (WMK), invites you to the next “Matinée musicale” on Sunday, September 20, at 11 a.m. at Loge Plato, Friedrichstraße 35. This benefit concert offers young musicians a special platform. Admission is free.

The program opens with a performance by violinist Manolis Schiller, a student at the Wiesbaden Music Academy (WMA) in Karl-Heinz Schultz’s class. The program includes, among other pieces, excerpts from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partita No. 3 in E major for solo violin, Hans Werner Henze’s “Serenade for Solo Violin,” and Fritz Kreisler’s “Syncopation.”

Next, the young trumpeter Sarah Lampert, who studies with Sandro Hirsch at the WMK, will present works by Oskar Böhme and Georg Philipp Telemann.

Emily Lewin will close the program with a selection of jazz, pop, and musical theater songs. She will be accompanied on the piano by Elisabeth Enns. The program includes songs by Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand, and Adele, among others. Lewin has been a student at the WMK since childhood and is currently studying jazz and pop vocals at the Wiesbaden Music Academy (WMA). Elisabeth Enns is also a student at the WMA in Prof. Johannes Möller’s piano class.

The “Matinée musicale” is part of the Hempel Foundation’s long-standing tradition of supporting young musicians by regularly offering them performance opportunities.

The next Matinée will take place on Sunday, November 1.
