Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Closure of Friedrichstraße 43–47

Friedrichstraße will be completely closed on Sunday, September 13, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. between house numbers 43 and 47. This is due to the installation of a crane to hoist a CT scanner into the radiology department.

Public transportation routes will be rerouted. The closure also affects bicycle traffic. Pedestrians can use their usual routes. The city asks for your understanding regarding the traffic disruptions caused by the construction work.

The city regularly renovates roads, utility lines, and sewers. As a result, there are approximately 5,000 construction sites in Wiesbaden every year. A map showing selected projects is available at www.wiesbaden.de/baustellen. (opens in a new tab) If buses are affected, ESWE Verkehr provides information on detours at www.eswe-verkehr.de (opens in a new tab). All of this work is an investment in the future. Without these projects, major damage would occur sooner or later, leading to even more severe traffic disruptions.
