Emil Adolf Krag was born in Erbenheim, which was incorporated into Wiesbaden in 1928. After attending elementary school, Krag trained as a bricklayer and took part in the First World War. During the fighting, Krag was so badly wounded that he was no longer able to pursue his profession as an invalid. He subsequently joined the postal service and worked for 40 years as a postal operations manager at Post Office I in Wiesbaden. His main activity was the distribution of letter post in Wiesbaden's Rheinstraße.
During the Nazi era, Emil Krag was a member of the National Socialist People's Welfare Organization, the Nazi War Victims' Pension Fund and the Reich Association of German Civil Servants. In addition to his professional activities, Emil Krag researched the history of his home town of Erbenheim and wrote two books about its history. He was also the chronicler of his gymnastics club. Furthermore, Krag worked as a botanist in his spare time and had been an honorary member of the 1846 Erbenheim gymnastics club since 1949. In 1964, he was appointed honorary chairman of the club. The Justus-von-Liebig School in Erbenheim made Krag an honorary member of its faculty.
A street in the Erbenheim district was named after Emil Krag by resolution of the town council on October 10, 1974.
