born: 03.03.1793 in Dillenburg
died: 08.03.1864 in Wiesbaden
Friedrich Hermann Alexander Pagenstecher 's father attended the Dillenburg Latin School from 1802 and went to Herborn in 1810 to study forestry at the forestry academy there. He later transferred to the University of Giessen. He completed his studies in 1813 and returned to Dillenburg to take over the local forestry district. However, the Wars of Liberation in 1813/14 prevented him from taking up his post. Pagenstecher volunteered for military service and served there until 1818.
He was then given a post as a forestry assistant in Hachenburg. In 1826, he went to Wiesbaden in the same capacity. A short time later, he was promoted to district forester for Langenhain and Wallau. From 1855, Pagenstecher worked as a senior forestry councillor and advisor for forestry in Nassau at the state government in Wiesbaden.
His grave is located in the old cemetery.
