Radio Rheinwelle
The non-profit association Radio Rheinwelle 92.5, founded in 1996, and Kommunale Radio Rüsselsheim (K2R) concluded a cooperation agreement in 1996 to jointly acquire a license. The official start of broadcasting was September 13, 1997, initially from Rüsselsheim. The pre-production studio Unter den Eichen was further expanded until March 1999, thereby establishing a greater local connection to Wiesbaden. From April 1999, the proportion of programs broadcast from the in-house studio was 50%.
The cooperation agreement with K2R ended in 2001. Since then, Radio Rheinwelle has been independent; the musical spectrum ranges from world music, classical music, musicals, swing, jazz, folklore, country, blues to German Schlager and hard rock, reggae, rock'n roll and independent music. Poetry, satire, children's programs, radio plays and comedy round off the entertainment on offer.
Every month, 300 volunteers provide up to one million potential listeners with information and music.
