Hunter examination
In Hesse, admission to the hunting examination is dependent on participation in a preparatory course and official admission to the examination.
In the preparatory course, knowledge of game biology, hunting operations, the handling of weapons, meat hygiene and all legal areas involved in hunting, such as hunting law, forest law, nature conservation law, animal welfare law and disease protection, is taught and hunting shooting on shooting ranges is taught in practical lessons.
The subsequent hunting examination is taken before a state-appointed hunting examination board in accordance with the hunting examination regulations and consists of 3 partial examinations: written examination, oral-practical examination and shooting examination.
