You can apply to extend your driving license to categories D, DE, D1, D1E.
Category D entitles you to drive motor vehicles designed and built to carry more than 8 people (excluding the driver) - including trailers with a maximum permissible mass of up to 750 kg. Class D1 is included.
Category D1 entitles you to drive motor vehicles in which a maximum of 16 persons (excluding the driver) can travel and whose length is a maximum of 8 m - also with trailers with a maximum permissible mass of up to 750 kg.
Category DE entitles you to drive combinations of a category D motor vehicle and a trailer with a maximum permissible mass of over 750 kg. Classes BE and D1E are included here.
Category D1E entitles you to drive combinations of a category D1 motor vehicle and a trailer with a maximum permissible mass of over 750 kg. Class BE is included.

Designation of a Driving School
Official proof of place and date of birth (e.g., ID card, passport)
A recent photograph that complies with the provisions of the Passport Ordinance (biometric-compliant, size 45 mm x 35 mm, portrait orientation)
Proof of visual acuity in accordance with the template in Appendix 6, No. 2 of the Driver’s License Regulation (§ 12(6) and Appendix 6, No. 2.1 or No. 2.2). You can have this certificate issued by an ophthalmologist, an occupational physician, or a physician at the public health department. An issued medical report or certificate is valid for 2 years.
Proof of physical and mental fitness in accordance with the template in Appendix 5 of the Driver’s License Regulation (§ 11(9) and Appendix 5 of the FeV). You may have the certificate issued by a physician. At the time of application, the certificate must not be more than one year old.

Transcript of driver’s license records (list of driver’s license details, if the license was not issued in Wiesbaden). This transcript is available from the authority that issued your current driver’s license. If you already hold a card-style driver’s license, the transcript is not required.
A biometric photo can be taken on site (a self-service terminal for digital photo capture is available; cost: 6.00 euros)

The fee is based on the current version of the scale of fees for road traffic measures.
