The popular “PlayFountain” water playground is returning to downtown Wiesbaden.
After two successful years at Luisenplatz, this popular attraction will now be providing a cool respite at Kochbrunnenplatz from July 18 through August 9, inviting visitors to play, cool off, and linger.
Mayor Christiane HinningerThe weather forecast for the next few days shows that the heat isn't going to let up anytime soon. With the PlayFountain, we want to give children, in particular, a chance to cool off.
Play Areas and Ways to Cool Off—An Attractive Destination During Summer Vacation
The PlayFountain covers an area of about 100 square meters and has over 1,000 electronically controlled nozzles. They produce water fountains up to four meters high. A water treatment system recirculates the water, continuously purifies it, and maintains it at drinking water quality. Electricity consumption is very low, at just 10 kW per hour.
The PlayFountain is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Use is free of charge.
Kochbrunnenplatz also offers additional play options on the playground, has two large umbrellas with seating, and provides shade under the trees. In addition, a misting system is installed on the square, which also helps cool visitors down during the summer heat. A public restroom is located nearby.
