Rent subsidy for start-ups

Founders have the opportunity to apply for a subsidy of up to 500 euros per month towards their rental costs for a period of twelve months.

Rent subsidy for start-ups in Wiesbaden

The rent subsidy program of the state capital of Wiesbaden reduces the start-up costs for founders who rent space in the Wiesbaden city area for the development, establishment, and implementation of their business activities. Eighty percent of the base rent (excluding utilities) is subsidized, up to a maximum of €500 per month.

Start-ups should be innovative in nature. Particular emphasis is placed on areas such as social impact, health, crafts, industry, technology, and sustainability.

Requirements for start-ups

  • Company headquarters in Wiesbaden
  • Start-up no older than three years
  • Rental property is located in Wiesbaden and meets the requirements of a start-up
  • Start-up is economically viable
  • Personal interview and joint appointment at the rental property

Documents required for an application

  • Business registration or comparable document
    • If necessary, documents regarding approval to conduct business
  • Complete business plan (including financing and milestones)
  • Feasibility study by an expert body (e.g., chambers of industry and commerce (IHK), chambers of crafts (HWK), banks, professional associations, and other bodies such as tax consultants, auditors, management consultants, or start-up advisory services)
  • Copy of the lease agreement
  • De minimis declaration
  • Consent to the GDPR (opens in a new tab)

Applications for the grant can be submitted at any time. Once all documents have been received, applicants will be invited to a personal interview. The number of places is limited.

During the funding and application process, founders will receive intensive support and assistance from the Department of Economic Affairs and Employment.
