Schenk´sches Haus

Friedrichstraße 32

What is called the "Schenk’sche Haus" is considered, apart from the Hereditary Prince Palace (today's Chamber of Industry and Commerce), as the last remaining residential building designed by Christian Zais, Wiesbaden's great Classicist architect. Building began in 1813, and in 1816 it came into the ownership of Carl Friedrich Schenk, a senior civil servant (Regierungsrat), to whom it still owes its name today.

It is a grand, impressive building which stands out in particular due to its very harmonious proportions.
