"Sports Bring Hesse Together" 2026

The "Sport Integrates Hesse" grant program provides expense reimbursements for individuals who lead sports programs with and for refugees, people with an immigrant background, and socially disadvantaged individuals, as well as, to a very limited extent, in-kind contributions for sports programs targeting these groups.

"Sport Integrates Hesse" Funding Program 2026

This year, the state capital of Wiesbaden is once again participating in the State of Hesse’s “Sport Integriert Hessen” funding program.

This funding program is designed to support refugees, people with an immigrant background, and socially disadvantaged individuals, and to promote their participation in sports and community life.

Sports clubs in Wiesbaden can apply to the Sports Office for financial support for suitable sports and integration programs until September 30, 2026. Only expenses directly related to the funded sports and integration program are eligible for funding. A fixed funding amount per club or initiative cannot be guaranteed.

The amount of funding a club may receive depends on the costs, the scope of the initiative, and the available funding. Measures carried out during the calendar year 2026 are eligible for funding. This means that ongoing or already completed measures can also be considered retroactively for the current year 2026, provided the requirements of the funding program are met.

What can be subsidized for sports clubs?

  • Additional costs for coaching resulting from integration efforts
—that is, additional coaching costs incurred in addition to the club’s regular operations due to the implementation of integration efforts (up to 275 euros per month)
  • Instructor costs for sports classes and training programs for the target group (up to 275 euros per month)
  • Material resources are only available
to a limited extent—this means that expenses for movable property (sports clothing and equipment) for use in integrative and social sports programs are only eligible to a limited extent
  • Transportation costs, provided they are directly related to the sports and integration programs
  • Professional development and training
programs—that is, expenses for conducting or participating in on-site professional development or training programs related to sustainable, inclusive club activities

What is not eligible for funding?

  • Refreshments and catering costs for sports festivals, tournaments, etc.
  • Membership dues, individual course fees, and participation fees
  • Fees for player and competition passes
  • Field and gym rentals (Exception: Rent and admission fees for swimming pools used for swimming lessons)
  • Expenses and costs for construction projects

How do you apply for funding?

If a suitable sports and integration program is being planned or is already underway, an informal application for funding can be submitted to the Sports Office. This application can be submitted to the Sports Office via email at 52-sportfoerderung(at)wiesbaden.de and should include the following information:

  • Name and address of the club
  • Name, phone number, and email address of the person responsible for the program
  • A brief description of the sports program
, including the target group, time period, frequency, number of participants, and number of people from the target group
  • What type of funding is needed and in what amount, for example
    • Additional personnel costs/instructor costs for integration efforts
    • Material costs (e.g., training materials, tracksuits, etc., but only to a very limited extent)
    • Transportation costs (related to sports and integration efforts)

Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee funding approval. Since the available funding is limited, grant applications will not be approved until after the application deadline on September 30, 2026. This allows all received applications to be reviewed collectively and the funding to be distributed as fairly as possible among the proposed initiatives, should the total amount requested exceed the available funding pool. In October 2026, we will inform the clubs of the current status and the respective funding decisions.
