Flames of hope

On May 15, the documentary "Flames of Hope - the dark fate of the four-legged friends" celebrates its premiere at the Murnau Filmtheater at 8 pm.

Dog in dirty room

Homeless animals, unscrupulous trade and people who give everything to save them. "Flames of Hope" is an emotionally stirring documentary about suffering, commitment and the fight for a better future. Personal fates are linked with global challenges - from the illegal puppy trade to the people who stand up for affected animals on a daily basis. The central question is: breeding or adoption? Experts provide touching and poignant answers.

The 45-minute documentary will be followed by a high-profile panel discussion with leading experts in animal welfare:

  • Birgitt Thiesmann (FOUR PAWS) - one of the most important voices in the fight against the illegal puppy trade
  • Dr. Kirsten Tönnies - veterinarian with many years of commitment to animal welfare abroad
  • Christian Ehrlich - animal filmmaker, author and presenter
  • Moderation: Ulla Atzert, journalist and author, known for her work at Hessischer Rundfunk

The guests will discuss the topics addressed in the film, provide insights into their work - and will be available to answer questions from the audience.
