Cinema hits in the open air at Schierstein harbor
From August 21 to 30, the SCHIFF open-air cinema at Schierstein harbor will once again feature a host of Hollywood greats and up-and-coming stars on the big screen right by the water.
In addition to the comedy hits "Wunderschöner" and "Bridget Jones - Verrückt nach ihm", the French insider tips "Die leisen und die großen Töne" and "Sechs Richtige" will also be shown. Hollywood glamor is spread by Tom Cruise in "Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning", Robert Pattinson in "Mickey 172", Brad Pitt in "F1 - The Movie" and Benicio del Toro in "The Phoenician Masterstroke", among others. The final film is the classic par excellence: "Dirty Dancing".
The movie starts at 8 pm, admission at 7 pm. Information and tickets (10 euros advance booking, 12 euros box office) are available at the link below.
Program:
The summer of cinema brings a whole series of European productions to the event, first and foremost "Wunderschöner" on Thursday, August 21, the sequel to the hit from 2022, which once again delighted over a million viewers in cinemas. French film is as lively as ever and will be making an appearance at SCHIFF with the multi-award-winning "The Quiet and the Big Sounds" on Friday, August 22 and the wonderfully black-humored comedy "Six Right Ones" on Thursday, August 28. The "European Outdoor Tour" makes a guest appearance on Sunday, August 24, with six short films about daredevil adventurers.
With Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, two of Hollywood's greatest actors are doing the honors and showing that they are still not afraid of action at the age of over 60: Cruise saves the world for the last time as Ethan Hunt in "Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning" and Brad Pitt has to show whether he is still a champion in the cockpit of a Formula 1 car on real racetracks in "F1 - The Movie".
Things are quieter, but with a deliberate tendency towards satire, in "Mickey 17" on Monday, August 25, when Robert Pattinson dies several times as an expendable clone, and in Wes Anderson's latest work "The Phoenician Masterstroke" on Wednesday, August 27, with the usual line-up of stars for his films, led by Benicio del Toro.
At the end of the SCHIFF, there will be plenty for the heart and romance. Bridget Jones is once again on the search for love in her new adventure "Crazy for Him" on Friday, August 29. And the last film to be shown on Saturday, August 30, 2025, is one of the greatest romantic classics of all time: "Dirty Dancing".
