Honorary staff wanted for museum education
Honorary staff wanted for museum education
Are you interested in history, archaeology, or art history? Do
you enjoy working with people—young and old alike—and have a talent for teaching?
Then join our team!
The sam – Stadtmuseum am Markt is looking for dedicated freelance staff to support our museum education programs.
In the heart of downtown Wiesbaden, we present a multifaceted panorama of Wiesbaden's history on approximately 1,300 square meters: from traces of the Ice Age to the Roman Aquae Mattiacorum, the Duchy of Nassau, and the former world spa town. The atmosphere of the historic market cellar provides an extraordinary backdrop for this. The museum, with its permanent exhibition and changing special exhibitions, is accessible via an elevator. A tactile guidance system, combined with replicas that can be touched and digitally accessible audio explanations of the objects, supports blind and visually impaired people in particular in taking an independent tour of the permanent exhibition.
What you can expect from us:
- You will guide groups of visitors through our permanent and special exhibitions
- You will lead workshops and creative programs for children, teenagers, or adults
- You will assist with events such as action days or inclusive offerings
- You will bring history to life in an understandable and enthusiastic way
What you should bring with you:
- You are studying or have studied—e.g., archaeology, history, art history, or education
- You enjoy speaking in front of groups, are good at explaining things, and are responsible
- You are flexible in terms of time – including weekends or mornings during the week
Experience in educational work is a plus, but not a must
What we offer:
- Thorough training in content and educational methods
- A varied range of tasks and a motivated team
- Encounters with many exciting people
- Work on a fee basis
Sounds good?
