This object was made by the former Julius Herz jewelry store in Webergasse in Wiesbaden. In later years, it developed into the court jeweler's shop.

Jardinière means gardener in French. Dried plants or artificial flowers were placed in the jardinière as decoration in middle-class homes or on festively decorated tables at court. 

This prestigious piece was purchased for the city museum's collection.
