Museum eavesdropper - audio guide by young people for young people
Museum eavesdroppers create a listening offer for all visitors aged ten and over.
The audio tour "Wiesbaden from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages" was developed in December 2025 by class 7b of the IGS Alexej von Jawlensky in Wiesbaden, supported by their class teacher, two radio journalists and media coaches from hr2-Kultur, and the team at sam – Stadtmuseum am Markt.
In texts they wrote and narrated themselves, featuring many short dialogues, the young people take visitors aged 10 and up on a journey through time to the beginnings of Wiesbaden. At various stations, they pick up stories that are waiting to be told to young people among the exhibits: from the oldest traces of human coexistence in Wiesbaden to those of soldiers from Roman times to the medieval traces of the Counts of Nassau and much more.
The MUSEUMSLAUSCHER tours are a joint project of hr2-kultur/Literaturland Hessen and the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen and were also supported in this case by the Nassauische Sparkasse.
As part of the project, which has already been successfully implemented in various museums in Hesse, young people develop audio guide tours for other children and young people. The aim is to present museums and their exhibitions from the perspective of young people, thus making them more accessible to their peers.
The audio tour is available at the link below and offers a new and attractive approach to the topics of Wiesbaden's early city history.
