On June 14, ARTE and the Museum Wiesbaden invite you to a special film screening full of buzzing and humming. A curated selection of documentaries about bees from all over the world presents the fascinating world of these busy insects and their importance to us humans.
Whether Sicilian bees, beekeeping in Indonesia or the use of honey in Michelin-starred cuisine: the film day on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. is all in the name of the bee.
The screenings will be accompanied by short introductions by film patrons and honey raffles. Admission to the film screenings is free.
The bee - popular figure of the 21st century
The Museum Wiesbaden is currently presenting two large, interdisciplinary special exhibitions on the subject of "Bees", which can be visited free of charge on June 14.
The natural history section follows the historical traces of what is probably the oldest relationship between humans and animals. From the earliest archaeological evidence to worldwide ethnological evidence and biological facts, the journey takes you through almost 14,000 years of human history.
In the art section, an exhibition is dedicated for the first time to the more than 500-year history of the bee in art with top-class works of art and more than 140 exhibits.
