The bee is the popular figure of the 21st century. In 2025, the Museum Wiesbaden is presenting two large, interdisciplinary special exhibitions on the theme of the bee.

The natural history section follows the historical traces of what is probably the oldest relationship between humans and animals. From the earliest archaeological evidence to worldwide ethnological evidence and biological facts, the journey takes us through almost 14,000 years of human history.

For the first time, an exhibition in the art section is dedicated to the more than 500-year history of the bee in art with top-class works of art and more than 140 exhibits. Spatially parallel and interwoven in terms of content, the two exhibitions of art and nature depict a socially omnipresent theme.

Duration of the exhibitions:

  • The bee in art.
From the Renaissance to the present day
    Until June 22, 2025
  • The bee in nature and cultural history
    Until February 8, 2026
