After "A Woman's Freedom", Édouard Louis returns to the story of his mother. To a woman who has already freed herself once. From alcohol, violence and shame, from silence. And whose story threatens to repeat itself when she calls her son one night while her new partner rudely insults her in the background. Step by step, the son plans to break out with her, a new beginning succeeds, but how does life go on if you have never learned freedom?
