Congress of the Institute of Administrative Sciences

On August 31, 1959, the members of the congress of the "International Institute of Administrative Sciences" signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.

Around 600 constitutional lawyers, political scientists, government representatives, civil servants and representatives of audit offices from 64 countries discussed administrative science topics in the late summer of 1959.

The eleventh International Congress of Administrative Sciences focused on the fact that administration should not become an end in itself.

Mayor Buch picked up on this approach when he welcomed the conference board to the town hall at a reception. He described Wiesbaden's history as an administrative city and reaffirmed local self-government.

The President and Ambassador of Denmark, Frants Hvaß, also expressed his thanks on behalf of the other members of the Executive Committee. He then signed the city's Golden Book together with representatives from the Netherlands, England, Brazil, France and Switzerland on behalf of the participants of the International Congress of Administrative Sciences.
