City archive barrier-free

As the municipal archive of the state capital of Wiesbaden, the Wiesbaden City Archive strives to be open to all interested parties. This also includes giving people with disabilities access to historical documents and historical education.

The city archive shows exhibitions in the building and offers various support services

The Wiesbaden City Archive offers various services to support people with disabilities when visiting the archive. The aim is to provide access to historical documents for all interested parties. This is why the "Arcinsys" research platform is barrier-free. When visiting the museum, there is a separate, low-noise room where documents can be viewed by appointment. The city archive also offers assistance to visually impaired people when visiting the building. Registration is required.

Events organized by the City Archive as part of its half-yearly programme and educational memorial events can be held on request with a report for the blind, in simple language and with sign language translation.

The city archive is also structurally barrier-free. The reading room, the event area and a toilet for people with disabilities are at ground level and can be reached without steps. Disabled parking spaces are available in front of the main entrance.

Assistance in the Wiesbaden City Archive:

  • Employees provide assistance to people with disabilities
  • Disabled parking spaces in front of the building
  • Barrier-free access possible
  • Interior rooms are accessible without steps
  • WC for the disabled available
