City archive barrier-free

As the municipal archive of the state capital of Wiesbaden, the Wiesbaden City Archive strives to be open to all interested parties. This also includes giving people with disabilities access to historical documents and historical education.

City Archive - Video in sign language

The Wiesbaden City Archives offers various services to assist people with disabilities when visiting the building. The aim is to enable all interested parties to access historical documents. For this reason, the "Arcinsys" research platform is barrier-free. When visiting the archive, a separate low-stimulus room is available where documents can be viewed by appointment. The City Archives also offers assistance to visually impaired people when visiting the archive. Registration is required.

Events organized by the City Archives as part of its half-yearly program and educational offerings at memorial sites are free of charge and can be conducted with audio description, in simple language, and with sign language interpretation upon request. Assistance dogs are welcome. Please feel free to contact us.

The city archives are also structurally barrier-free. The reading room, the event area, and a toilet for people with disabilities are located at ground level and can be accessed without steps. Disabled parking spaces are available in front of the main entrance.

Assistance at the Wiesbaden City Archives:

  • Staff members provide assistance to people with disabilities
