Siren rehearsal on December 9
On Tuesday, December 9, a siren rehearsal will take place at 7 p.m. throughout the city of Wiesbaden. The Warnapps and Cell-Broadcast will not be triggered. This is purely a siren rehearsal. Feedback from the public is not necessary for this siren rehearsal.
All existing sirens in Wiesbaden are currently being digitized. In this context, sirens are also being replaced or new sirens installed. The basis for this is the updated public address plans as well as the current and future development of the state capital of Wiesbaden.
In order to continue to ensure that the siren warning signals are heard clearly and distinctly in all areas of the city of Wiesbaden and that citizens are sensitized to emergencies, it is necessary to carry out regular siren tests. During the siren test, a one-minute ascending and descending wailing tone is played to warn the population, followed by a continuous tone lasting one minute to sound the all-clear. The test alarm is also announced on the digital display boards in the city.
The following rules of conduct should be observed, especially when the "Warning of the population" signal is given. These are uniformly regulated by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and also apply in Wiesbaden:
- Close doors and windows immediately
- Avoid staying outdoors
- Turn on the radio and listen to announcements
- Pay attention to current messages from the fire department
- Notify neighbors
- Switch off ventilation and air conditioning systems
As a general rule, rescue and emergency services cannot help all companies, facilities or citizens at the same time in the event of a large-scale crisis. It is therefore advisable to take your own precautions. Information on this is available at wiesbaden.de/notfallvorsorge. Should a crisis occur in Wiesbaden, citizens can find up-to-date information at wiesbaden.de/krisenfall.
