Open Monument Day
Once a year, always on the second Sunday in September, on September 14, the whole of Germany goes on a discovery tour on Open Monument Day. In Wiesbaden, many monuments open their doors to visitors.

Aktives Museum Spiegelgasse für Deutsch-Jüdische Geschichte e.V.: Built in 1735, third oldest residential building in Wiesbaden, building complex closely linked to the beginnings of Wiesbaden's Jewish community, renovated in 1999. (Opening hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Protestant Albert Schweitzer Community Centre: Construction began in 1979 under architect Fritz Soeder, inaugurated on June 30, 1980. The multifunctional center is a modern functional building with a gabled roof, red bricks and a roof construction made of pine wood. (Opening hours 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Evangelical Luther Church: Built in 1908-10 in the late Art Nouveau style by architect Friedrich Pützer, the church was consecrated in 1911. Inside there is a Walcker organ with electro-pneumatic action with 46 stops and three manuals. (Opening hours 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.)
Evangelical Ring Church: Built in 1892-94 according to the Wiesbaden program drawn up for the church by Pastor Emil Veesenmeyer. The architect was Johannes Otzen. Basilical exterior in an urban location. (Opening hours 3 to 7 p.m.)
St. Mauritius Catholic Church: Foundation stone laid in 1961, consecration in 1968. Unity of architecture and art through the building material concrete. Basement and parish rooms: architect M. Braunstorfinger, church and free-standing tower. (Opening hours 1 to 6 p.m.)
Villa Justitia: Built in 1903 by architect Christian Dähne as proof of his wealth and building skills. Inside and out, relics of Art Nouveau, including neo-Gothic elements such as the tower; interior hall based on the English model with vaulted ceiling in Tudor style. (Opening hours 11 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.)
Guided tours of the Platte hunting lodge
The Platte Hunting Lodge opens on September 14, 2025 from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. A free guided tour will be offered at 12:00 and 13:00. Admission to the house and the guided tours is free. It is not necessary to register for the guided tours. Those interested should meet in the castle rotunda on the first floor.
The "Day of the open monument"
Over 7,500 historical sites open their doors and inspire a large number of visitors. The "Open Monument Day" is the largest cultural event in Germany. Since 1993, it has been coordinated nationwide by the German Foundation for Monument Protection, which is under the patronage of the Federal President.
