WMK - Wiesbaden Music and Art School

  • 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on the Dern'schen grounds

As part of the Wiesbaden City Festival, the Wiesbaden Music and Art School once again invites you to the popular singing festival on the Dern'schen grounds in the heart of the city. Hundreds of singing enthusiasts from Wiesbaden meet up to sing together. As always, the motto is: join in, try it out, sing along. Choir experience and previous knowledge are not necessary. Vocal support is provided by students and former students of the Wiesbaden Music Academy on stage as well as experienced Wiesbaden choir members in the audience.


Modern Music School

11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Dern'schen site

The Modern Music School Wiesbaden is a private music school for rock and pop music that teaches guitar, bass, vocals, drums and piano. Whether beginner or professional - with over 35 years of experience in music education, the Modern Music School is the place to go for anyone aged six and over who wants to experience music with fun and passion. The focus here is on the students and their musical wishes. That is why the Modern Music School primarily supports programs that are responsible for the formation of bands. To enable the students of the Modern Music School Wiesbaden to do this again this year, the music school is participating in this year's city festival on Sunday, September 28.


Luis & Mathis

The pop duo with best-friend power! Mathis Bösel (17) and Luis Diaz (17) inspire with their two-part vocals, changing instruments and their infectious love of music. Since their appearance on The Voice Kids 2023, the two have been known far beyond the Rheingau and have already impressed on big stages such as the Rheingau Music Festival. They captivate fans of all generations with their energy, enthusiasm and likeability. After their great performance last year, Mathis & Luis are already looking forward to being on stage again at the Wiesbaden City Festival on September 28.


Los 4 del Son

Los 4 del Son is the house band of the famous Cuban bar La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana's old town. The musicians bring Cuban joie de vivre to every stage! Los 4 del Son will animate your audience with their Cuban Son, Merengue, Bachata and Salsa, as well as Cha-Cha-Cha, creating an exuberant dance atmosphere.


Good day & Hola

Music from the Lameng is the duo's motto. Irish folk, country, Spanish folklore and pop songs are just some of the genres played by the duo Gude & Hola. Gerald Neubauer and Frank Zimmermann share a great passion for music and take you into the world of music during their performances.

Colin Frost, the British singer from Liverpool, delights with Beatles songs and classics in a chilled lounge sound. Together with cajon drummer Paul Maré, the duo present their musical favorites that get to the heart and legs.

The Straighten-up Band, a sextet from Wiesbaden, presents a diverse repertoire of timeless swing classics, melodic jazz standards, energetic rhythm & blues, soulful ballads, nostalgic oldies from pop and soul to Latin songs with a bossa feeling. The sound colors are as multifaceted as the instruments: In addition to guitar, bass and drums, voice, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, flugelhorn, blues harp and scatimprovisations bring a varied sound to the stage. Straighten-up's particular strength lies in their lively interaction with the audience. The joy they feel when playing is infectious and allows the rhythmic spark to jump directly to the audience. A performance by the Straighten-up Band is therefore an experience: good music that simply puts you in a good mood and offers something for every musical taste. Whether "finger snapping", simply tapping along or dancing along - there is something for everyone!

When music becomes magic: The Lighthouse Club Band brings the lifestyle of legendary soul, funk and disco clubs back to the stage. Rousing grooves, great vocals and a sound that immediately gets into your legs and heart - the Lighthouse Club Band is no ordinary cover band. It is an experience. The formation from the Rhine-Main region transforms every stage into a dance temple and every event into an unforgettable night.


Los Chuchy

The duo Los Chuchy takes the audience on a musical journey through Latin America with salsa, son, cha-cha-cha, bachata and merengue.


Anton Birkholz

Anton Birkholz presents juggling as living street art. He combines dance movement, rhythm and visual aesthetics to create a versatile show in which the objects develop a life of their own and invite the audience to marvel.


Masomaso

masomaso, a mobile Wiesbaden music ensemble, colorful, relaxed, quirky and mobile. masomaso plays danceable world music, ma' Latin, ma' Jazz, Funk, Swing, ma' Rythm & Blues y ma' Salsa. With wind and percussion instruments, they create music that transcends cultures and countries.

Normally, they twirl hilariously through hospital corridors, chase away sorrow and worries from sickbeds or make cheerful music in retirement homes: the Wiesbaden clown doctors on humor rounds. But on Sunday, September 28, they will be whirling around on a completely different terrain - namely at the Wiesbaden City Festival! A wonderful opportunity to meet the clown doctors in a completely different way.
