Our philosophy - a place for people, animals and nature
The Fasanerie Wiesbaden is an Ark Park, a place of learning and encounter. We stand up for endangered animals and impart knowledge about nature and sustainability - for children, young people and adults.
The Fasanerie Wiesbaden is more than just a zoo - it is a place of preservation, learning and encounter. Our philosophy is based on a deep respect for nature and the desire to preserve it for future generations. As a recognized Ark Park, we are committed to the preservation of rare and endangered domestic and wild animal breeds. We see ourselves as a sanctuary for these animals, but also as a mediator of their value and importance. Because only by preserving diversity can we also preserve a piece of our own history.
An equally important part of our self-image is nature education. Knowledge creates understanding, and understanding leads to responsibility. At the Fasanerie, we want to pass on knowledge about animals, nature and sustainable action - to children, young people and adults. Our educational programs enable direct encounters with animals, convey ecological awareness and promote a deeper understanding of the interrelationships in nature. We are convinced that those who experience nature with all their senses develop an inner connection to it and will work to protect it.
The Fasanerie is a place for people, animals and nature. Our natural landscapes invite visitors to come together - with the animals, with nature and with other people. Here, visitors young and old can marvel, learn and exchange ideas. The pheasantry is not a place of distance, but of experience. We want to create a space where nature is not just a backdrop, but an active part of the community. Because nature connects - and that is precisely our aim.
