Traveling exhibition: Democracy knows no age

In these times, it is important to take a stand. For this reason, an exhibition on the topic of "Democracy knows no age" was presented in the town hall in April.

The traveling exhibition "Democracy Knows No Age" features posters and photographs accompanied by personal political statements from people of all ages. The exhibition is based on a workshop organized by Wiesbaden’s Senior Citizens’ Services and the Volunteer Center, which was funded by “Demokratie leben” and took place last year. Several people came together there to discuss democracy, participation, responsibility, and social cohesion. This gave rise to individual messages—as well as key themes and demands that were discussed collectively during the workshop.

"Democracy Knows No Age" highlights how differently—and yet how unifyingly—democracy is experienced, and how valuable participation and engagement are at every stage of life. The perspectives of the workshop participants are shared with the public and invite visitors to take a stance on the topic of democracy themselves.

The traveling exhibition can be borrowed by interested institutions through the GereNETZ office. Pickup and return must be arranged independently.

At the exhibition opening, Dr. Peter-Georg Albrecht from Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences gave a fascinating lecture on the topic of "Civil Society Engagement by Older Adults Against Right-Wing Extremism.
" The lecture is available for download below.
