Information event: Heirs and the law - Why do I need a will?

Succession within the family, in businesses, and the distribution of assets to friends, acquaintances, caregivers, etc., through bequests and gifts, are important matters that require careful planning and structuring. This crucial step is often neglected during one’s lifetime. Using examples, various typical scenarios and fundamental structuring options will be presented and explained.

Hans, a school principal nearing retirement, feels more like a guest in his wife Rita’s life. Public meetings or informational events are held regularly—usually on Mondays—at City Hall on Schlossplatz. Every citizen has the right to speak there. Speakers are invited to address specific and current topics. Invitations are announced via press releases at the bottom of the page at www.wiesbaden.de/seniorenbeirat.

Before the agenda is addressed, a
question-and-answer session for citizens will take place at 10 a.m.

Elderly people in particular are the target of con artists who telephone them to ask them to hand over money and valuables or who gain access to their homes by posing as fake tradesmen.

The Senior Citizens' Advisory Council would like to intervene here to provide support: Marion Beste, a police-trained security advisor for senior citizens, is available to answer your questions and give you advice and tips. You will also find a sympathetic ear here if you have been victimized.
