Young people get involved in their neighborhood for a week. Come along and join in!
The "Week of Commitment" has been held once a year since 2024 in all children's, youth and district centers in the state capital of Wiesbaden. During this week, young people get involved in their neighborhood on a voluntary basis and for the common good. Together with the social workers, they get to grips with their immediate living environment.
The resulting projects are as diverse as the open child and youth work: they range from a youth flea market, a pizza baking campaign for the men's hostel, food distribution at the food bank, poster campaigns, intergenerational encounters, "Chill&Style" to beautification campaigns in public spaces.
"I am incredibly proud of this initiative by young people to volunteer for more justice."
Dr. Patricia Becher, Head of Social Affairs
