Office for Social Work

Youth work

The Youth Services Department offers recreational, cultural, and educational programs for children and youth. Its goal is to advocate for all children and youth and their interests, and to enable everyone to participate in its programs.

The Youth Services Department offers gender-specific programs for girls and boys and, through its mobile youth outreach, goes where the young people are.

The department is divided into the following five subdivisions:

  • Neighborhood-based open youth work in the seven municipal children’s, youth, and neighborhood centers and the Youth Information Center;
  • The “Schöne Ferien” vacation program for children and youth, featuring the “Schöne Ferien vor Ort,” “Sommerwiese,” and “Kultur im Park” programs;
  • Municipal Youth Education Center, offering cultural education, international youth work, the “Participation” service center, and media education programs;
  • Financial support for independent organizations involved in open children’s and youth work and for youth association activities;
  • Specialized Office for Corporate Partnerships with “Wiesbaden Engagiert!” and the Wiesbaden Leisure Card.
