International youth exchanges

Poland, Spain, Austria, Greece and Spain? Young people from Wiesbaden can take part in youth exchanges in European countries or in Wiesbaden. International encounters are also possible outside Europe.

Many young people sit and listen to something. The girls are wearing white, embroidered blouses.

International youth encounters and educationally accompanied youth trips are organized by the "Wiesbaden Worldwide" network. Young people aged 13 and over can take part in the programs if they live in Wiesbaden. The participation fee is calculated in such a way that no one has to stay at home for cost reasons.

The trips take place in other European countries - very often in Wiesbaden's twin cities - or in non-European countries. Sometimes the meetings also take place in Wiesbaden. Multinational meetings with young participants from several countries are particularly exciting.

A group of young people are standing on a street, a mountain can be seen in the background.

What are the topics?
Each trip has a thematic focus, for example ecological sustainability, political education, digitalization or "Living together in Europe". The trips are prepared together with the young people. The young people can design the content themselves and contribute and implement their own ideas.

Is there any preparation?
Advanced Preparatory Meetings (APVs) are offered to prepare for the meetings, which are attended by one young person and one adult teamer per participating country.

Who pays for this?
The federal government and the European Union provide third-party funding to enable educationally accompanied youth encounters to take place. The Youth Work Department submits funding applications for co-financing. Recognized independent youth welfare organizations are advised by the "Wiesbaden International" department on how to apply.

Where can I find out more?
Interested young people and parents are welcome to contact the Eurodesk advisory service at the Youth Info Center or the "Wiesbaden International" department directly.
