"Schöne Ferien vor Ort", a free play and cultural program, offers an exciting program in various parts of the city.

"Schöne Ferien vor Ort" is an open and free play and cultural program offered by the "Schöne Ferien" department for children between the ages of six and twelve. At VOR ORT, children can take part in a varied range of games, exercise, sports and creative activities.

Up to eight instructors and additional supervisors are involved with their activities. Talent show, Olympics, campfire & stick bread, arts and crafts, bouncy castles, creative workshops, play mobile, beauty palace, balloon art and henna tattoos, chill-out corners, decorations, the social department on site and something special once a week!

The long-standing format is complemented by new regional theater artists, a self-organized flea market and a follow-up meal for children on the last day of each event week.

Easter 2026

  • Easter: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Week 1: March 30–April 2, Erbenheim / Hochfeld Sports Field
  • Week 2: April 7–10, Gräselberg / Wörther-See-Strasse playground

Summer 2026

  • Summer: 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Week 2: July 6–10. Hollerborn / Mittelheimer Strasse
  • Week 3: July 13–17 Biebrich / Parkfeld
  • Week 4: July 20–24 Westend / Platz der deutschen Einheit
  • Week 5: July 27–31 Schulberg / Playground
  • Week 6: August 3–7, Kastel / Krautgärten
  • Week 6: August 3–7, Sauerland / Sauerlandpark

Fall 2026

  • Fall: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Week 1: October 5–9, Klarenthal / At the community center
  • Week 2: October 12–16 Schelmengraben / At the old shopping center

Ten times ten

The project takes place over ten weeks of summer vacation at ten different locations. During the first week of summer vacation, the Summer Meadow event will once again be held at the Reisinger Anlagen. The "Schöne Ferien" department places great emphasis on the selection of venues. The program specifically targets neighborhoods with particular social needs.
