There are various forms and services of child day care in Wiesbaden. Many child day care providers look after and support children in their own homes. Other child day care providers rent suitable rooms for the education and care of children under the age of three – so-called children's apartments.

Childcare facilities can generally be found throughout the city.

The Child Day Care Advice and Placement Center

Information on child day care is available from the Treffpunkt Kindertagespflege advice and placement center. The contact details can be found below in the blue contact box. 

You can also use this to contact the relevant staff at the Child Day Care Center of the Office for Social Work. Just drop by. No registration is required.

The Treffpunkt Kindertagespflege advice and placement center supports parents in their search for childcare. Here you will receive all the important information you need as well as individual advice from competent contact persons. You are entitled to this advice for as long as your child is in childcare. Upon your request (application for childcare), a placement can be arranged between you and the childcare provider.

The Kinderbrücke model is a special childcare service offered in Wiesbaden. Childcare providers who work together in the Kinderbrücke offer reliable substitute care models. In addition to individual support from their childcare provider, children receive additional support in weekly playgroups or in the nursery's buddy group. Kinderbrücke childcare providers work as a network and are closely supported by an educational specialist. In the event of absences, a substitute system ensures continuity, bonding, and reliable care. Kinderbrücke is run in cooperation with three municipal daycare centers and independent organizations (EVIM and Der Kinderschutzbund OV Wiesbaden).

All counseling services are free of charge for parents. The State Capital of Wiesbaden | Office for Social Work | Department of Day Care Centers and Child Care charges a monthly fee and a flat rate for meals. These correspond to the costs of care in nurseries (in accordance with the Child Care Regulations). This means that child care is publicly subsidized and costs no more than a place in a nursery.

You have the option of applying for a subsidy to cover part or all of the childcare costs. You can find this on this page under "Further information" (Childcare contributions – Apply for a subsidy).

Parents can get comprehensive information about child daycare at the “Treffpunkt Kindertagespflege” counseling and placement center, located at Bahnhofstraße 55-57 (ground floor/corner building). 

The parent information sessions are held every two months on the second Tuesday of the month from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. The dates are:

• July 14, 2026 (Summer Program)
• September 8, 2026
• November 10, 2026
