Daycare entry

Daycare entry is an offer in the form of learning and play circles that make it easier for children and families who have not been reached by institutional daycare, or only insufficiently, to enter the system of early childhood education, care and upbringing.

Who is this offer aimed at?
Children aged one to four and their parents
-with refugee experience -families
who have recently moved
from abroad -who are unfamiliar with the daycare education system and have little to no knowledge of existing educational opportunities

What is the aim?
The daycare introduction program prepares children and parents for the regular daycare program so that they can settle in well at the daycare center.

The program aims to familiarize children and parents with processes, structures, and rules that are modeled on those of a daycare center.

Families receive a wealth of additional information on issues relating to parenting, support, and health, as well as assistance with a wide range of questions.

What should participating parents know?
The program usually takes place three times a week for about three hours (in the morning or afternoon) at an Anker daycare center and is supervised by a pediatric specialist and a parent educator.

Parents participate together with their children. Younger siblings are welcome to come along.

After three to six months of regular participation, the child is given a regular place in a Wiesbaden daycare center. The transition is accompanied.

How can parents and children be referred to the program?
There are anchor daycare centers in various districts. For further information, please contact:

the Kita-Einstieg specialist office, Office for Social Work, Daycare Centers and Childcare Department.
