Daycare entry
Daycare entry
Daycare entry is an offer in the form of learning and play circles that make it easier for children and families who have not been reached by institutional daycare, or only insufficiently, to enter the system of early childhood education, care and upbringing.
Who is this program for?
Children aged one to four and their parents
- with refugee backgrounds
- families who have recently moved here from abroad,
- who are unfamiliar with the daycare system and have little to no knowledge of existing educational programs
What is the goal?
- The “Kita Einstieg” program prepares children and parents for the standard daycare program so that they can settle in well at the daycare center.
- Through this program, children and parents will become familiar with routines, structures, and rules modeled after those of a daycare center.
- Families receive extensive information on parenting, early childhood development, and health, as well as support with a wide range of questions
What should participating parents know?
- The program typically takes place three times a week for about three hours (in the morning or afternoon) at an Anker daycare center and is led by an early childhood educator and a parent educator.
- Parents participate together with their children. Younger siblings are welcome to join.
- After three to six months of regular participation, the child receives a regular spot at a daycare center in Wiesbaden. The transition is supported.
How can parents and children be enrolled in the program?
- There are Anker daycare centers in various neighborhoods. For more information, please contact the Kita-Einstieg office, Department of Social Work, Division of Daycare Centers and Childcare.
