Violence against LGBT*IQ people
As part of a symposium on September 26, the state capital of Wiesbaden is looking at the perception of safety and experiences of violence and discrimination in the LGBT*IQ community. The survey will run until October 15.
The state capital of Wiesbaden is conducting an online survey and a symposium on the perception of safety and experiences of violence and discrimination among lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans*, intersex and queer people (LGBT*IQ).
Specialist event: Counseling for victims of LGBT*IQ-hostile crimes
The LGBT*IQ Coordination Office invites you to the specialist event "Counseling for victims of LGBT*IQ-hostile crimes" on Friday, September 26, 2025, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 022 of the Town Hall, Schlossplatz 6, Wiesbaden.
The aim of the event is to provide volunteers and professionals from LGBT*IQ associations and victim counseling as well as all other interested parties with practical impulses and in-depth information on the specific needs of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans*, intersex and queer people who have experienced discrimination and violence.
Experienced speakers from the field have been recruited for this:
- The Frauenennotruf Marburg has been offering regular consultation hours for LGBT*IQ people affected by violence at the Queer Center Marburg for several years.
- The Quint specialist counseling service for queer people who have experienced violence has been the point of contact for the entire state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 2023.
Mayor Christiane Hinninger will give the welcome address.
The presentations will be followed by a discussion about possible services for victims of LGBT*IQ-hostile crimes in Wiesbaden.
