Reducing discrimination and preventing extremism

Platform Extremism

In Wiesbaden, the "Platform Extremism" committee was founded by various organizations and sponsors. Its task is to counter extremist tendencies, regardless of whether they are politically or religiously motivated.

This committee is made up of representatives from various authorities in the state capital of Wiesbaden, the Hessian State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the police, Wiesbaden schools, the Protestant and Catholic churches and the Islamic communities in Wiesbaden. The Office for Immigration and Integration is responsible for the management of the platform.

The work of the Platform Extremism is directed against all forms of activities and developments that hinder integration. This includes all forms of extremism, regardless of whether they are left-wing, right-wing extremist or religiously fundamentalist.

The objectives and tasks of the platform include a regular exchange of information and experience as well as the coordination and definition of projects and measures, including their evaluation.

The two extremism prevention projects "Anlaufstelle Antisemitismus und gruppenbezogene Menschenfeindlichkeit" by Spiegelbild - Politische Bildung from Wiesbaden (opens in a new tab) and the "Kommunale Beratungsstelle Salafismus" by VIBIS e. V. (opens in a new tab) arose directly from the work of the Platform Extremism.
