Arrival and orientation

Project "WieWeiser"

The "WieWeiser" project trains migrants for their work in integration courses, where they give new immigrants an orientation on the various offers, institutions and structures in Wiesbaden.

To help new immigrants settle in and find their way around, the "WieWeiser" project (opens in a new tab) trains migrants. In the future, they will volunteer in integration courses to provide information on how to access institutions and local resources in Wiesbaden.

"WieWeiser" began as part of the main project "Integration auf Kurs" in November 2018 with the search for a name, profiling, and the creation of the requirements profile for future participants. This was followed by a recruitment phase from November 2018 until the information event in March 2019 at City Hall.

During the training phase, various workshops were conducted with the aim of equipping and empowering participants with the knowledge and skills needed for their future roles.
Fifteen intercultural “WieWeiser” participated in the project: two men and 13 women from Brazil, India, Iran, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Syria, Turkey, and Germany, who brought a wide range of skills to the table.

After successfully completing their training, the “WieWeiser” are now working on the “Integration auf Kurs” project.

The “WieWeiser” project is an initiative of the Integration Department of the Office for Immigration and Integration. Project coordination is handled by wif e. V. – Begegnung & Beratung.
