#WOHiN is a working group under the auspices of the Social Benefits and Job Center that looks after homeless, homeless and other people who are conspicuous in public spaces.
The aim is to develop possible perspectives in individual cases that can improve living conditions. In addition, all measures support a socially acceptable coexistence of all people in public spaces.
#WOHiN stands for the networked work of authorities and various agencies, in particular various organizational units of the social benefits and job center, the municipal police, health department/social psychiatric service, Diakonisches Werk, Caritas Association, addiction support center, Malteser Hilfsdienst, the state police and volunteers. Complaints, suggestions, orders, etc. are processed, and the necessary measures are initiated and monitored, together with the relevant departments via a municipal coordination office, which is located in the social benefits and job center.
Advice for homeless and homeless people in public spaces
As part of our outreach street social work, we aim to make direct contact with homeless and homeless people in order to offer help and support, but also to assess their needs.
Our social workers are happy to support affected people in their everyday lives, help in crisis situations and motivate people to take the initiative, especially with the aim of ending homelessness.

How can you help?
Please be aware of people in public spaces. If you have the feeling that the person does not appear to be well, speak to them.
If they are responsive, please ask if and what help is needed. For example, call an ambulance or inform the city police (control center 0611 / 31 4444), who will take the person to an emergency shelter.
If the person does not react, please take the necessary first aid measures, if possible place them in the recovery position and call an ambulance.
