Self-help
There are around 100 self-help groups in Wiesbaden, whose members meet regularly to discuss the illness and its consequences.
They are supported by the self-help contact point, which is located in the health department. Citizens looking for a suitable self-help group can also contact this office.
Self-help groups form the social framework in which individual skills are developed to deal constructively with an illness, a disability, mental problems or crises and to overcome them. These are supported by the Wiesbaden self-help contact point.
If you have any questions on the following topics, the self-help contact point of the public health department will be happy to advise you:
- Finding suitable self-help groups
- Information, advice, support and qualification of self-help groups
- Support in setting up groups
- Provision of group and office space
- Informing and advising the public about existing self-help services and establishing contacts
- Advice for group leaders in problem situations
- Cooperation with and support for the Wiesbaden self-help group working group
In addition, the self-help contact point regularly publishes the "Self-help guide", which can be downloaded free of charge at the bottom of this page. In this guide you will find the contact details of the self-help groups that are registered at the contact point of the public health department.
