Health promotion, reporting and communication

The municipal health promotion department designs and organizes various events to ensure that the population of Wiesbaden has easy and unbureaucratic access to medical, health-promoting and preventative information. These include the "Understandable Medicine" lecture series, the Hessian Health Days and the Patient and Psychiatry Day.

In addition, this department initiates campaigns and projects that affect individual age groups or settings (e.g. schools, workplaces) and have a positive influence on the health of citizens.

The department is active in various cross-city networks and is Wiesbaden's coordinator for the Healthy Cities Network.

Coordination of the partial legalization of cannabis

The department is also responsible for coordinating the partial legalization of cannabis in Wiesbaden. The basis for this is the Consumer Cannabis Act (KCanG), which has been in force since April 1, 2024.

In addition to the activities mentioned above, the Wiesbaden self-help contact point is also affiliated with the department.
