Wallau clasp

The Wallauer Spange is a connection currently being planned between Wiesbaden main station and the ICE high-speed line Cologne - Rhine/Main towards the south / Frankfurt Airport.

Once this line opens, Wiesbaden will have significantly improved access to Frankfurt Airport and its rail hub. In addition, the Hessenexpress lines that will operate there in the future will also offer shorter travel times to Frankfurt Central Station and Darmstadt Central Station than the existing connections.

A new stop, “Wallau/Delkenheim,” is planned along State Road 3017 near the Wallau highway interchange. From there,

  • Bus connections will provide an attractive transfer option from Wiesbaden’s eastern suburbs and the Main-Taunus district to regional rail service (SPNV).
  • Bike+Ride and Park+Ride services facilitate the switch from bicycle or car to rail

Expected commissioning date based on current planning: 2032.
