Department for Public Mobility - Local Transport Organization (LNO)

The Department for Public Mobility - Local Public Transport Organization Wiesbaden (LNO Wiesbaden) is the responsible public transport organization for local public transport in the state capital of Wiesbaden. The aim is to provide sustainable, reliable and future-oriented mobility services for all citizens.

Key tasks include:

  • Forward-looking strategic planning for a sustainable local public transportation system in Wiesbaden
  • Coordination and collaboration with neighboring cities and counties, the committees of the Rhine-Main Transport Association (RMV), the State of Hesse, and Deutsche Bahn
  • Strategic planning and continuous development of bus services and complementary mobility services (sharing services)
  • Commissioning and overseeing concepts for local rail passenger transport (SPNV)
  • Support for construction projects in local rail passenger transport
  • Promotion of the networking and integration of complementary mobility services 
  • Planning, expansion, and modernization of transportation infrastructure for public transit and complementary forms of mobility
  • Development and establishment of public transit standards
  • Monitoring the implementation of the public service contract for city bus services and the service delivery of the contracted bus company (ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH)
