Rhinos in the 1st Bundesliga
The "Rhine River Rhinos" wheelchair basketball team have been saved and will once again compete in the 1st German Wheelchair Basketball League in the 2025/26 season. After their victory against Munich, the Rhinos also won clearly in Zwickau with 95:42. The next game is on December 6 in Osnabrück.
Clear 95:42 at the guest game in Zwickau
The Rhine River Rhinos from Wiesbaden continued their third matchday at RB Zwickau. The Wiesbaden wheelchair basketball team also won clearly and emphatically in Saxony with a 95:42 victory, their third clear win in the Bundesliga in their third game.
Matchday 4 at RSC Osnabrück
The Rhinos will then host RSC Osnabrück on St. Nicholas' Day, Saturday, December 6, at 4:30 p.m. on the fourth matchday and will be looking for their fourth win of the season. Curious: On the same day, the footballers from SV Wehen Wiesbaden will also be visiting Osnabrück.
First home game with a clear 82:30 win against Munich
After the clear opening victory in Bayreuth, the Wiesbaden wheelchair basketball team's first home game was against the RBB Munich Iguanas in the hall at Platz der Deutschen Einheit. The anticipation was great and so the Rhinos won clearly in the end with 82:30 and thus landed the second clear victory on the second matchday. So the season opener was a success.
Season opener: 85:42 win in Bayreuth
Finally, the time without Bundesliga wheelchair basketball has come to an end: The new season in the 1st German Wheelchair Basketball League got off to a very successful start for the Rhinos under new Head Coach Christopher Huber. In Bayreuth, the Wiesbaden athletes won clearly with 85:42 and thus laid the foundation for a hopefully successful season.
New coach: Christopher Huber takes over - aiming for the playoffs
After two intensive and successful years, player-coach Michael Paye has left the Rhine River Rhinos. Paye's former assistant Christopher Huber is now the new head coach. He spent ten years at series champions RSV Lahn-Dill until 2021 and is now in charge of the Rhinos' sideline. Now that the course can be set both financially and in sporting terms, the Rhinos and manager Mirco Korder want to present the new team as soon as possible. The new coach has also set the goal for the season, which is the playoffs!
