Support program: More green at home

Citizens can apply for funding for climate adaptation measures through the municipal funding program "House and courtyard greening in Mainz-Kostheim Mitte". Up to 85 percent of the costs can be reimbursed. Interested parties can find out here whether their building is located in the eligible area and how to submit an application.

Measures that improve the microclimate are being promoted.

These include measures such as greening roofs and facades, unsealing soil to allow rainwater to seep away, collecting rainwater in cisterns for reuse, and greening inner courtyards. Eligible measures include, for example:

the design and greening of communal open spaces, playgrounds, and gardens,
the permanent greening of facades and roofs,
preparatory and accompanying measures such as analyses, unsealing measures, and demolition work.

Private property owners and associations can receive project funding, as can leaseholders, cooperatives, and owners' associations. The projects can be implemented on buildings that are used by the owner themselves or are rented out.

Eligibility and consultation Does
your project appear to be eligible? Contact the Wiesbaden Climate Protection Agency (opens in a new tab). They will provide you with initial advice and further information on a subsequent on-site consultation. This will be carried out by a planning office commissioned for the funding program.
Submit a funding application A project
outline and cost estimate must be attached to the funding application. The planning office will assist you in preparing these. The application must be submitted to the Wiesbaden Climate Protection Agency.
Funding application approved
Important: Only start implementing your project once your funding application has been approved. Otherwise, you will not be eligible for funding.
Submit payment receipts
Submit your payment receipts and the planning office's acceptance report within three months of completion.
Enjoy your green project
You will receive the approved funding as a reimbursement of 85% of the eligible costs or a maximum of €20,000 per project.
