Information services for the banks of the Rhine and Main
Ten information boards along the Rhine and Main show exciting facts about the riverbank. Digital extras are available via QR code, for example a live stream from a stork's nest.
The banks of Wiesbaden are diverse. Ten informational signs along the banks of the Rhine and Main highlight these unique features, shedding light on topics related to nature, industry, and history. The project invites visitors to see their familiar surroundings with fresh eyes.
A special focus is placed on the interactive design of the panels. In addition to interesting facts and vivid illustrations, there are special sections for children that encourage learning and discovery through playful elements. Each panel features a QR code that unlocks additional exciting information. The stork camera offers fascinating insights into the lives of storks in Schierstein, while in Kostheim a raftsman recounts his arduous journey. The digital content is illustrated, for example, through short videos, audio clips, or a quiz about Biebrich Palace.
The idea for the project originated from the Rhein.Main.Ufer concept. In the fall of 2024, residents had the opportunity to share their ideas. Many local clubs and volunteers contributed to the creation of the panels, sharing their local knowledge. Since January 2026, the panels have been enriching the Wiesbaden waterfront. The project was funded by the RheinMain Regional Park.
