The Preventive Fire Protection Division represents the interests of the Wiesbaden Fire Department in public-law proceedings concerning preventive fire protection and monitors the implementation of such measures.
To this end, the department’s staff consider structural, technical, and/or organizational measures that prevent the outbreak of a fire and the spread of fire and smoke (fire propagation) and, in the event of a fire, enable the rescue of people and animals as well as effective firefighting operations.
In doing so, the staff draw on their diverse personal expertise, in-depth technical knowledge, and individual skills to address the growing importance of preventive fire protection within the framework of government action.
Structured into six organizational units, the department’s diverse portfolio of responsibilities is thus reflected.
At the core are four specialized divisions, which are supported administratively and procedurally by the department’s administrative office and, in terms of administrative and organizational matters, by the department’s management.
Hazard prevention inspections
This department is responsible for ensuring the hazard prevention inspection (GVS) in accordance with Section 15 of the Hessian Fire and Disaster Protection Act (HBKG) in accordance with the Hazard Prevention Inspection Ordinance (GVSV).
Fire protection statements
This department is responsible for the preparation of fire protection statements, in particular in accordance with
§ 4 of the Building Code (BauGB),
§ Section 70 (1) of the Hessian Building Code (HBO),
§ Section 19 of the Hessian Ordinance on Authorized Inspectors and Inspection Experts (HPPVO),
§ Section 6 (6) of the Ordinance on Authorized Inspectors (NBVO),
§§ Sections 10, 16 of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and
other justified requests.
Fire protection equipment and documents
This department is responsible for formal participation procedures within the meaning of Section 70(1) of the Hessian Building Code (HBO) and the Hessian Administrative Regulation on Technical Building Regulations (H-VV TB) for fire protection systems operated or used by the fire department.
Event security
This department is responsible for ensuring the necessary acts of cooperation i.b. for larger open-air events and in terms of the law on places of assembly for Office 37 in the sense of an internal office bundling point in the thematic environment for the interests of the fire department. the rescue service provider and the lower disaster control authority.
Advice & Contact
The Preventive Fire Protection Department cannot provide any advisory services, neither for citizens nor for other groups of people. The employees work exclusively within the framework of public law assignments.
Accordingly, inquiries relating to building regulations must be addressed to the Building Supervisory Office and technical inquiries to the service companies represented on the market, such as specialist planning and/or expert offices.
The resulting coordination requirements with the fire department of the state capital are ensured on the basis of public law requirements either in official and internal authority procedures or by application.
